Lo and behold, the ultimate Detox Water! This is my go to drink for those days where I'm feeling of a particularly sluggish disposition. This infused water is not only the perfect perk me up in the early morning, but is especially great to consume a week before a special event to help flush the body from any vile toxins, as well as to help de-bloat and help get rid of that two-month looking baby belly! As the old saying goes, beauty starts from within so it is important to nurture the body with plenty of nutrients and vitamins, to enjoy the benefits of feeling and looking healthy - naturally good skin, glossy hair and strong nails, all begin with your diet.

Staying hydrated is crucial, 8 glasses of water a day is an absolute must! I am an avid water drinker, but sometimes plain water can tend to get boring. However, by adding a few extra ingredients to your water it will not only add a burst of flavour, but will also provide the all essential vitamins and minerals to help detoxify the body (it can also aid with weight-loss!).

The magic ingredients are:
Lemon- the citric acid promotes healthy digestion, boosts the immune system and helps to cleanse and alkalize the body.
Mint- aids in digestion, and helps to settle the stomach.
Cucumber- helps to hydrate the body and has anti-inflammatory properties.

Recipe:
Add wedges of lemon, slices of cucumber and a handful of mint leaves into a jug/ bottle of water (add more of the ingredients for a more full-bodied flavour, or alternatively more water to weaken the concentration). Finish off with some ice for a refreshing finish! It's super yummy!

Please remember that each time you refill your jug/ bottle, the fruit will dilute and it will subsequently lose a great part of its nutrients and vitamins.I would recommend to refill the container two or three times at most, before disposing of the used ingredients and adding some fresh ones. Also, make sure to keep the water for no longer than 48 hours, and refrigerated at all times.

What are your thoughts on today's post? Will you be trying this recipe?
Lots of love, Ana

Faux earpiercing jewellery review

anasofiachic, body jewellery shop, review, earpiercing, ear cuff, fake earring, faux earring, fake piercing, faux piercing, beauty blogger, fashion blogger, lifestyle blogger, makeup blogger, british bloggerGrowing up with parents who have a very traditional and conservative mentality, anything to do with body modification (tattoos, piercings, radical hairstyles etc.) was a big massive no-no in my household - which, looking back,  I am now very thankful for! But I think everyone goes through that rebellious stage when they're younger, where they want to experiment and try new things out of their comfort zone, but with little consideration to the long lasting effects of these decisions.

Being a goody two shoes throughout my teenage years (for the most part anyway), as soon as I got to university I decided to take my first ever rebellious step and get an ear cuff (so badass, right?). I was so obsessed with it, I would show it off at every opportunity! However, three years on and I have had to get the piercing redone three times; whenever I brushed my hair, the hoop would get caught on the hair brush's  bristles and would fall off, it would also catch on to things such as loose knits, or simply open up whilst I slept. If I forgot to re-insert the piercing on the same day, by the next morning the hole would have already closed up! It was such a hassle at times, but ultimately it was all well worth it, I was in love with my cute little silver hoop!

I have always considered getting more piercings, a literal earful of stacked silver rings would be gorgeous! Unfortunately I'm just not that ballsy, and would never go ahead with such an idea.  Thankfully now there's a solution! Thank goodness for the pierced jewellery knock-off industry; faux cuff earrings are great, as you get the same look as you would with a real piercing, but without the lifetime commitment and ear butchering. The Body Jewellery Shop offers a wide selection of different earpiercing styles to suit your preference, ranging from simple designs, to more elaborate alternatives. To wear the fake ear cuff, simply insert it and slide it from the top of the ear, onto the middle, then twist the hoop inwards to attach. If you feel that it may be slightly lose (as I experienced), just add a little bit of pressure to tighten the gap between the earring and the ear.

You can purchase the faux earpiercing pictured above directly from the Body Jewellery Shop HERE.

What are your thoughts on faux jewellery? Would you try the ear cuff style pictured above?
Lots of love, Ana

Here it is, my first ever Youtube Tutorial!

Get this season's latest trend, the edgy and chic marble nails design by following these few simple steps!

Steps:

1. Use a black nail polish as the base for the nails.

2. Choose a metallic or matte grey nail polish, and scrunch up a small plastic bag, dip it onto the nail polish and subsequently dab on the nails to create a natural marble ripple effect.

3. Repeat the step above with a white nail polish, and this will build on the detail of the whole marble effect.

4. Dip a small paintbrush into some nail varnish remover, and brush small sections of the nail to make the lines less harsh, and the design more blended.

That's all folks!
Don't forget to thumbs up and subscribe for future tutorials!

What are your opinions on this tutorial? Will you be giving this latest trend a go?

OOTD- Longline side split top

If I could describe my fashion sense in three words it would be feminine, chic and sexy. I enjoy wearing stereotypically girlish wardrobe items such as skirts, dresses, sheer blouses, ruffles (in moderation), pastels and plenty of sparkles (but never in that sickly sweet, over the top kind of way). Normally each outfit is accompanied by a pair of heels, dainty jewellery, and a statement handbag. I love form-fitting, slightly revealing and playful clothing, but my primary rule when it comes to skin baring is to only show either the top half of your body, or legs - finding a balance is key. For example, say a top has a plunge neckline, I will normally team it with a long pencil skirt, or a classic pair of trousers. Alternatively, if I am wearing a mini skirt, I will make sure to wear a top that starts from the neckline down (a turtleneck is my usual go to).

I have ingrained in my head that this is the kind of style that suits me, and the only one I should stick to; a style that I am comfortable with the Do's and Dont's, and know what flatters my figure more or less in the best way (that's not to say that I don't occasionally have the "what the heck are you wearing?!" moment from family and friends, and mostly boyfriend). However, sometimes I look at other girls and cannot help but to admire their fashion sense, even though it may be completely polar opposite to mine. Outfits look so effortlessly married together, but yet so edgy, trendy and cool! Whereas I on the other hand, usually spend a good twenty-minutes each day matching my clothing to shoes, jewellery, hair and makeup, and sometimes I won't feel at all satisfied with the final ensemble, and would have to revaluate the whole look.

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and chose a basic long-line top with split sides from Blue Vanilla, an item that I would have never previously contemplated wearing myself. The top is casual yet edgy, and has an understated element of sexiness due to the sneak peak of flesh provided by the side splits. For everyday wear, I have teamed up the top with some high waisted blue jeans, but this can also be dressed up for the evening with a simple pair of heels and a clutch bag, perfect for a Friday night out with the girls.

As much as I love the top, I'm just not sold on how it personally looks on me; I think it looks great on others, and god how I envy that, but unfortunately I don't feel very comfortable in wearing it myself - it's simply not me. All I can do for now is to continue to follow the current fashion trends, but with a critical eye, so as to avoid another case of looking like a victim of fashion!

You can purchase the top directly from Blue Vanilla, HERE.

What are your opinions on the latest trend of longline, side split tops? How would you describe your fashion style?
Lots of love, Ana

JORD Watch review

I know I pretty much sound like a broken record, but I am addicted to all kinds of accessories; I have said it before, and I will say it time and time again, accessories complete an outfit, as simple in style as they may be. However, as much as I love watches (I have been lusting over the Michael Khors gold watch for quite some time now!), I am cursed with incredibly small (freakishly tiny) wrists! To my dismay, I have never been able to find a watch that hugs comfortably around my wrist. To make matters worse, I only like large watches, and I mean, big faced, chunky, heavy, masculine watches, that look absolutely ridiculous sitting on my baby like arms! Just over twenty-two years on this earth, and I still have not been able to find a watch that ticks all the boxes.

JORD watches contacted me for an opportunity to collaborate, but I’ll be honest, I was slightly apprehensive to accept the offer as I suspected that the watch would just fall off my arms, or look plain silly on my teeny tiny wrists. However, looking through the collection of watches that the website has to offer, I could not resist the opportunity and therefore said yes!

JORD watches  has an innovative concept of just using natural materials for their products; the watches are handcrafted out of wood, and focus on showcasing the luxe of natural materials. From the selection of beautiful watches, my heart settled on this gorgeous Purpleheart watch from the Cora collection. The wood frame has a naturally rich purple color, which matches beautifully with the iridescent Mother of pearl face. Adding on to its obvious luxury are the glittering Swarovski crystals - the watch is bursting with opulence. The watch fits comfortably around my wrist, and although it is a fairly large design, it is incredibly light in weight.
